INTRODUCING: THE BROKERS TRUST COMMUNITY PROJECT
Today, we officially launched our own community giving program called The Brokers Trust Community Project. A program dedicated to ramping up our philanthropic activities this year—to mark our 60th anniversary—and beyond.
The Brokers Trust Community Project invites each member of our Brokers Trust team to donate a collective 60 days for 60 years to charities of their choice—with the goal of making meaningful charitable donations in 2024 and, in turn making a difference in the communities we do business in.
Giving back to local communities has always been a key pillar of the Brokers Trust business and remains a top focus as we celebrate our 60th anniversary.
Throughout the year, the Brokers Trust team can get involved by either donating their time and volunteering with the charitable opportunities we have planned or by sharing a charity of choice that has a special meaning to them.
Our First Assignment!
Fast on the heels of our announcement about The Brokers Trust Community Project, we received our first volunteer assignment, and the team couldn’t be more excited to get involved.
Brokers Trust in partnership with Gore Mutual will be sending volunteers to the Yonge Street Mission (YSM) to support their Project: Generat1on Evergreen Meal.
What is Project: Generat1on Evergreen Meal?
Project: GENERAT1ON is a hands-on group engagement experience that makes giving back fun and meaningful by participating directly in the life-changing programs and services offered by YSM in collaboration with our staff, at one of our three downtown Toronto facilities.
The Broker’s Trust team has helping directly with their Evergreen Meal program where we will:
- Prepare and serve a meal for up to 100 street-involved youth—this involves preparing the food, serving the food, washing dishes and cleaning up
- Stock YSM’s Food Bank with a variety of non-perishable and fresh foods to ensure community members can enjoy nutritious meals at home
- Help to prepare the Food Bank for the week’s appointments by assisting staff in unloading food delivery trucks and sorting and organizing foods + other donated goods
Incredible News—That Makes a Difference!
In addition to volunteering time, Brokers Trust submitted the important work that the Yonge Street Mission does to the Gore Mutual, Gore for Good program. The Brokers Trust team successfully secured an additional $5,000 in funding for the program that will go to support the Yonge Street Mission and the wide range of services and programs designed to meet the unique needs of street-involved youth, to move them from merely surviving to thriving, and forward, out of poverty.
Keep your eyes open for more on this project and our next assignment!
